One of the most known Columbian coffee brand — — has got its name due to a beautiful legend since the ancient times when a new commonwealth — the Great Colombia had appeared on the world map… In 1819, the European governments began to think about establishing diplomatic relations with a distant South American country that lately had become independent. The fist to come to Colombia was the ambassador of Switzerland — a young noble viscount. Having gone ashore after six months of sailing, he grabbed at once a local beauty. The girl smiled at him and kindly offered a cup of flavored coffee. The day after, the Swiss envoy was received by the President of the Republic, Simon Bolivar. The President, out of respect, got curious about what he could give to the guest as a souvenir. Bolivar was really surprised by the answer that however pleased him. The young ambassador asked nothing but a cup of Colombian coffee. The diplomatic mission of the Swiss envoy was successfully completed. On return from his trip, he brought home the pleasant memories and an invigorative aroma of the Colombian coffee that since then got the name Nowadays, the brand product is released with a triangle logotype of the National Federation of Colombian Coffee Producers, that images the Colombian farmer Juan Valdez and his mule. And up to date Colombia is considered a leader in production of high-quality coffee, whose secrets of success are carefully kept and passed from generation to generation. |
